This article caught my eye. Interesting subject really. I'd love to hear from others because I am having trouble understanding why we allow the prisoner "rights". I am not saying take away fair trial and appeals.

- Yep. 8 months ago my mom paid one third in Mexico of what would have cost her here. I have already started saving to go down in one year and flat out pay for what I would have to finance for 5 years here in the US. The medical field is just as greedy as the oil and/or banking industry!!

- I have no problem w/ payment to the child but to the mothers? He was an adult so unless she can show proof that he was a wage earner for her I just don't think it is right. That is the extent of my issue w/ payment to his mother. DAK-1250684

- He is a predator of weaker people. I blame the judge for the next one. It was the judges responsibility to protect the public. He had the opportunity to impose a maximum sentence and didn't.

- Truthhurtssometimes- I was just thinking along the same lines. ONLY you missed part of the message. NM doesn't lock up the illegals so it would be only the politicians. Doesn't sounds bad either BUT we all know the US doesn't put away politicians or famous people (except for the token few).

- VPM626 - Sounds like you are a little bitter. Actually I know all about fathers who don't pay child support, my mother struggled to raise 4 children with VERY little assistance from my father. We often had to sleep in only one room of our house because she couldn't afford to heat the entire house.

- Sounds like my step-son. When he was 12 he told his dad that he was not a good father because we didn't send him enough child-support money every month. And we didn't get to speak with him for 2 years. We even showed up at his house (500 mile) and he refused to answer the door.
